North Down DUP MLA Gordon Dunne has spoken of the importance of remembering the Holocaust after attending an event in Millisle on Friday to remember this occasion. The MLA added:

‘I would like to commend the events to mark Holocaust Memorial Day which took place on Friday in Millisle. I believe it is very important that the horror of the Holocaust is never forgotten. It was very encouraging to see young people from Millisle Primary School take part in the events and I would like to commend them and the staff of Millisle Primary for getting involved in these events in conjunction with the local Community.
It was also very fitting to see Rachel Levy a Holocaust survivor take part and join in on this special occasion. The Holocaust was a terrible atrocity which still continues to cast a dark shadow over many parts of the world and I am pleased that Northern Ireland certainly does its bit in remembering all the victims and those impacted by the Holocaust.’
