‘The Holywood Culture night was a fantastic success and proved to be a very enjoyable event with thousands of people from right across Northern Ireland turning up to attend. It was really encouraging to see many local businesses, churches, charities, organisations and volunteers all coming together for a real celebration of culture at this special occasion. There was a great buzz around the town on Friday. The local community certainly turned out to join in on this special day, along with many visitors to the area which was great to see.
I was delighted to be able to enjoy the festivities in the town and would like to commend the organisers of the event, for all their hard work in making this event a real success. I certainly look forward to next year and I trust this event will continue to go from strength, to strength in the future. I believe there is a real appetite to see this event continue to build on the success of previous years. I believe this event has now been firmly established in the local calendar and is one which people now really look forward to every September.’
Councillor Stephen Dunne added:
‘This year’s Holywood Culture Night was a great day of entertainment and festivities, there was a great atmosphere about the town from early afternoon, as the music started to play, along with many other festivities throughout the day which continued on into the night. Everyone I spoke to certainly seem to really enjoy the event and I am sure that this event brought a real boost to the many local shops and businesses in the town centre which stayed open and got involved in the celebrations.’
